They have banned plastic bags in my city and the surrounding cities are starting to follow. I have been loosing my mind trying to pack groceries into those grocery store brand fabric bags that don’t stay open. I did a search and found these. They looked huge in the picture but they are actually on the small size for me…none the less they actually work better at this smaller size for fitting in cart…we just ended up having to buy another set. They stack nicely on top of each other with no chance of collapsing the one under it. Well made..rugged will last a long time.

*** UPDATE *** Nov 29, 2015 — still holding strong. The plastic clips which I believe are purely decorative on the straps have not broken on any of our (6) bags, like one of the other reviewers commented. My wife has had people approach her several times at the checkout line asking where she found them. Absolutely love these bags/boxes…no more frustration trying to hold the bags open while you load them.

I was looking for containers that would not fall over in the back of my car. These are amazing! I got 6 and make sure I have an empty one to give cashier to start the checking out process. She said she wished everyone had these!

I bought these to replace a store-brand shopping box I’d purchased several years ago, and so far it is worth every penny. I think shopping boxes are WAY more convenient than reusable bags, because they fold flat when not in use, but are sturdy and stable when unfolded so that they stay upright and don’t jostle groceries around. (No more having to retrieve rogue cans from underneath the car seats. Yay!) They also hold a bit more than most bags. These are a little smaller than what I was expecting, but they still hold a lot, and with a set of 3, they can easily carry the contents from anything but a really huge grocery run. (One side note: Be prepared to have a conversation about what these are, where they came from, how unusual they are, etc., with at least one grocery clerk, and maybe a customer behind/in front of you in line, EVERY time you shop. I think this just goes to show that there aren’t enough shopping boxes in circulation yet.) I would definitely recommend these, and even though they are a bit pricier than bags, I think the convenience and sturdiness more than makes up for it.

I have taken these to the store several times now and they are beyond amazing! They’re really durable, hold pretty much the equivalent of two plastic bags, and are very convenient. It took me a few times to get the system down by using these, but I have it figured out now. The cashiers here are in love with them, and ask where I got them every time I check out. My only recommendation- if you shop unaccompanied, I wouldn’t take them to a huge store like Walmart, where they use a spinning bag system. I’m willing to bet they won’t like these and will back their lines up too much trying to figure it out and sort. I take them to Farm Fresh, where they often have baggers available, and I also get a discount off my total for each bag I use of my own. I added a photo from one of my larger shopping trips. This is almost an entire cart full, loaded into 4 of these bags, which as you can see stack very nicely 🙂 I made a trip yesterday, overflowing cart and still barely filled 6 bags. I ordered two packs of three, but you can honestly make a lot happen with only three!

I love these bags. The inside fold down bottom is so great as it distributes the weight of what you put in the bag. Almost every check out register person comments about how impressed they are with these bags as they stay open and are easy to put things into them. They can hold so much that they can become quite heavy (AND the carrrying strap stitches have never started coming undone). I also use them to transport books, tools, & find them useful to carry anything I need to get from Point A to Point B!!!! Only con might be if you use them for groceries and get meat/poultry juice etc. on them. They are cloth and can be washed by hand but aren’t able to be tossed into the washer…. due to the interior fold down bottom.

Like many others who have posted reviews here, I picked up a few of these at a lower price from Wal-Mart. However, If you’re like me, you do your research on Amazon first–regardless of whether you end up purchasing here–so I’d like to echo others’ glowing reviews. These bags have proven to be more spacious and durable than I initially thought they would be. I’ve even gotten compliments from grocery store staff when I’ve used them in the checkout line. They love that these bags stand up on their own, making them much easier to load than all the other floppy, shapeless re-useable bags. These bags have also come in handy when shopping at Costco; no more rooting through the bins at the front of the store, searching for sturdy boxes with handles (an almost impossible find on a busy weekend afternoon)!

I don’t usually write 5 star reviews. The product really has to be exemplary to warrant it, and this product was worthy of it (at least for me). My husband actually got these first. We would use them when we went to Costco or Sams Club. It made packing and unpacking the car so much easier. I got some more the other day for myself. Our city has a no plastic bag rule in place. I had about 20 reusable bags in my trunk of all shapes and durability and tangled up in one another. Although they work and do their job, these shopping boxes are absolutely wonderful. They hold a lot, are way sturdier than they appear (trust me on this… I was surprised too. I thought with as thin as they were, they wouldn’t support much, and then I was worried the straps would break with a heavier type load. No worries. The straps are reinforced and whatever the material they are made of, hasn’t let us down). They are easy to wipe down and clean. Best of all, they are collapsible which for me means a cleaner/more organized trunk (no more bags flying all around. Everything is neatly contained. I have all my collapsible boxes inside one open box along with a few cooler bags).
Overall, I’d highly recommend these.

These are fantastic! I bought a set for myself and this set for my mom. They are durable and really well made. You can load these up with 2 to 3 bags worth of food. They have a great capacity, much bigger than you initally think. The fold down hard bottom makes them support a heavy load (cans, bottles, etc) as well. I really like that because I much prefer to run a couple of heavy boxes inside rather than twenty lighter bags. Although I have to watch the bagger to make sure they do fold them down because for some reason a lot of them just don’t see that giant, obvious piece in there. I have had my set for about six months and they look brand new still… even after shopping trips twice (at least!) a week for my family of six. Usually the set of three is sufficient for a regular shopping trip but I would recommend two sets if you do larger trips and/or have a larger family to feed (like mine). They fold completely flat for storage and don’t bunch up like reusable bags, too. I very highly recommend these.

Simply, this is the best shopping bag I’ve ever used. It gets noticed almost every time we go grocery shopping. We’ve been asked dozens of times (no exaggeration) — by grocery baggers, checkout clerks, and other customers — where we purchased these box-like bags. We identify Amazon (although they could be available elsewhere) and add: "But they are kind of pricey." If I had more time to explain, I’d point out that the bags are worth the extra cost, since they’ll likely outlast most other shopping bags, they can carry (easily) several relatively heavy items, they can be used in place of the in-store baskets (thanks to the inside panel that folds down), and they sit perfectly on the floor without tipping over. Not to mention that they get rave reviews from employees in stores who see more fabric bags in one day than we’ll see in a year. In fact, contradicting the part about "kind of pricey," we’ve actually purchased three sets of these bags from Amazon over the past two years. Is it worth the cost? I think so.

I’ve purchased the black ones twice now, as I wanted more than three! These are the BEST shopping bags I’ve owned. Sturdy, well made, easy to fold up, bottom that folds down, great handles for bringing upstairs. They stand up straight and tall in the back of the car, and don’t slide around. They never tip over, even with a hard stop while driving. They carry just the right amount of items as well. I literally get asked every time at the checkout counter where I got them – consistent compliments from shoppers who spy them as well as store staff. Quick tip – open them up and put them in the shopping cart, then when you go to check out it’s super easy. I see they have a bunch of colors and designs now as well. Have given them as gifts to friends, and employees have purchased them based on my reviews. These things are the best! No more plastic bags, no more items rolling around in the car, fold ’em up and ready for the next use. Buy them you’ll like them! 🙂
