What They Say About ‘3 BONE HOOP SKIRT BRIDAL WEDDING GOWN SLIP (CH130DS)’

Pros: I am 5′ 2" tall and the height is perfect – it comes to the floor (not my ankles like on the model). I am also chubby, and there is plenty of room in the waist and hips – I am in 16/18, I think this would fit up to a size 18/20 but not far beyond that. It is very easy to adjust.

Cons: made of a single layer of cheap and thin synthetic fabric. The bones are 1/4" flat steel and have a tendency to turn in their too-wide casing.

I bought it for under my wedding dress, and for that job it’s perfect. I think it would also be a great addition to a dress up box for little girls, since it is very easy to remove the bottom hoop . If I wanted something for serious re-enacting or for repeated use, I would go with a more substantial product.

I purchased this hoop skirt knowing full well going into it that I would need to modify it. The bottom circumference was too large for my needs, but I know for a number of wedding dresses or renaissance gowns, this would be an ideal skirt. The boning is steel and can be adjusted! There are rubber stoppers on the boning that allow you to take in the hoops, to a point. You can cut off one of the stoppers to bring in the boning further (with caution – recommend that you do this only if you’re an experienced seamstress and plan to alter the hoopskirt).

Easy to modify and add to it. It gives a nice silhouette. However, not giving a full 5 stars because it does not have any tulle or an overlay to prevent the "lampshade" effect. Strongly encourage those who want to wear this to buy a slip to go over the hoopskirt or to add your own tulle to ensure that your dress looks full and flush.

Also the drawstring is a bugger. It will dig into your waist and slip after a few minutes. I ended up making it into an elastic waistband, and it made it a million times more wearable.

It transformed my fit in the flare! No hemming needed now that it picked the dress up off the floor. I would recommend, especially because the hoops are adjustable.

Works for my purposes but a few things to keep in mind before purchasing… the sizing aspect to shrink or grow the hoop is difficult to execute, this is JUST the skirt NOT a dress, the top part the model is wearing is NOT part of the item you get so keep that in mind. It ties in the back so it can fit pretty much any size. Mine came with a rip in the seam too. If the skirt is all you’re looking for it is reasonable although the price is a little more than similar products so do your research if you are in need of a particular quality or feature.

Just what I was looking for to fill out my wedding dress. I bought it based on the other reviews that stated it was adjustable. I do not see that the hoops are adjustable in any way. However, this does not effect me because it is at the right diameter for my needs. The shipping was very fast and the fit is great. I paid around $26 which I think is an ok price…but I think it’s a little high for the simplicity and quality of the product I received. It was still substantially cheaper than all the ones I looked at from the Bridal Stores so I can only complain slightly.

The hoop skirt is extremely difficult to adjust the size of. After fiddling with it for about an hour or so, I gave up on it and now it’s sitting in my closet until I muster the will to struggle with it again to get it to the size I want. The construction of the hoop skirt otherwise doesn’t appear to have any issues or be overtly cheap, I just hate things that require me to fiddle with them for 1+ hours.

I am a very skeptical person when it comes to shopping online for items for my wedding dress!

butttt…WOW! Is really all I have to say.

When I first opened the package I tried it on and made my dress SUPER puffy. I really did not want that much puffiness. So, I tried adjusting the hoops and grew very angry because it seemed you cannot adjust them. However, you CAN! If you turn the skirt inside out, on each hoop, there is an opening. You have to keep pulling the metal around until you locate where the ends meet on the wire.

Once I adjusted the hoop, it became the perfect size!!! OMG I cannot tell you how happy I am. I bought a stock wedding dress which I fell in love with. However, it needs tons of alterations because it is a size 10 and I’m a size 1!!! This hoop skirt is saving me alterations on hemming; so, all i’ll need now is tightening and bustling. My only fear now is that the drawstring might be uncomfortable during the big day. (fyi I have a 24" waist and it fits). I’ll come back for an update.

HIGHLY RECCOMMEND!

It’s not as high quality as another one I have, but it was very wearable, looked great and has held up well–all at a good price (at least at time). We used for for re-enactments and the like, and it was great for that purpose.

This item arrived promptly and as described. I wasn’t sure from the picture what exactly to expect, but it works perfectly.

The skirt is made of 3 hoops, connected with a thin light white fabric (cotton/polyester blend perhaps?). It cinches at the top with a draw string, so you can fit it to nearly any waist size. You could also pin the material to a slip or bustier of any sort to hold it in place. I’m worried that hours of wearing it will rub on my skin where the draw string is tied, so I’m going to wear a slip (yay Spanx!) and pin it directly to that.

This hoop skirt saves me hundreds in alterations on my wedding gown – it was just feeling a bit too poofy for my height, and I was tripping on it. This skirt pulls the fabric away from my legs, making it easy to walk and breezy on my legs rather than stifling under all the fabric. It also fills out the skirt of the gown so it looks as the designer intended.

Overall, a huge savings for me, works perfectly – the material doesn’t feel high quality, but that’s okay, and the drawstring perhaps being uncomfortable are my only concerns.

I bought this to go under my wedding dress. I adjusted the hoops to somewhere in the "medium" sized range, and it was perfect for the fit and flare silhouette of my dress. The waist is basically a shoestring that you tie, but it works just fine. Using the petticoat has the added bonus that it keeps the dress off my legs and feet, so I don’t have to "kick" my dress in order to walk around in it. It also allows for better air circulation. Because each hoop can be adjusted independently and for quite a range of sizes, I can see this working for almost any long wedding dress. I’ll hang onto this to use for Halloween costumes in the future, as well. No complaints or regrets here!
