Overall the belt buckle works well, it’s secure and looks quite well. It also fits my 1 1/8 belt perfectly.
There’s one major flaw though. I put it on a reversible belt. The clamp is SO tight that I can’t undo it which means I can’t use my belt as a reversible belt. It’s totally jammed because the teeth on the clamp are so long that unless your belt is paper thin, you’re going to close the clamp and never be able to open it again. I can’t undo the clamp so my black/brown reversible belt is now just a black belt. And my belt is fairly thin, it’s not like this is an issue because I have an unusually thick belt, this would be a major problem for every reversible belt
I got this to make an old belt useful when I needed to size it down. It works great for that; just make sure to measure the belt width very precisely.
I was happier with it than expected because it looks very nice, a little shinier and more uniform in color than one can tell in the photo. If you want a gold replacement buckle, it’s been a good choice so far.
This was a good purchase. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. It enables me to salvage a new belt less than a year old that failed on me. When buying a new belt, I highly recommend staying away from belts that have a small central pivot point. However, if you do, and it fails, then this buckle will fix it.
I order this with my cut to fit belt. I have had bad experiences in the past with belt buckles like this…but not this one. It is a very secure clamp for your cut to fit belt. I know this will not come off.
