What They Say About ‘180S WEEKENDER GLOVE WITH ALLTOUCH’
I bought an men’s XL and for me it was a tighter fit than I prefer. I had to double check that I didn’t get a women’s by mistake. Checking the measurements it seems it is designed to be a snug fit.
Despite the fit I would wear them except for the fact that they are not designed for cold weather. They are not suitable for temperatures below 35 Fahrenheit for anything longer than 5 minutes. I imagine they’d be fine for anyone in a warmer climate or for those that typically keep their hands in their pockets.
These were a great price on amazon … first went to Lord and Taylor and they wanted more than 3x as much for the same pair! Gloves are decently warm although I would say if it is below 0 they are not really going to help you they are ideal for above the teens I would say. Works well with iPhone. I do notice that using your thumb tends to be much harder than your pointer finger though because of the way the fabric is sown. I have the original pair before buying these which has a small stylus sown into the pointer finger and thumb … this newer updated version is far superior as now all fingers work with touch and they don’t have the stylus nub which was too large and clumsy to use.
I bought this initially to replace my NorthFace Windstopper but this turns out to be much thinner than that, which is fine. It’s much more useful, still warm (I use it mainly when driving or walking outside).
My only grip with it is the fingers are disproportionately short. My Windstopper is also size small and my fingers fit perfectly. The Weekender’s fingers is at least 1-2 cm shorter so it doesn’t fit my whole finger. I would give it 5 star if the fingers would be more normal length. I can live with it but it takes getting used to because it feels weird, but in terms of size, it fits just like the NorthFace small, just shorter fingers.
They are surprisingly warm and windproof gloves, and the touch functionality works good for swiping. For tapping, however, the seam at the end of the finger makes it very difficult. With small fingers you might get away with tapping with the pad of your finger, but with a large finger you end up tapping multiple buttons. They need to manufacture the finger with the seam wrapped up by the top of the fingernail so that there is a smooth end surface. Also, tapping in general takes some practice because it taps when the glove touches the screen, not your finger, so you have to stop short of actually pressing your finger on the screen or, at least on a Droid, the phone thinks you’re trying to grab and move the icon instead of just tapping it.
The positives are that the product is very cheap compared to what they have in Macy’s or even in 180s’s website. The gloves feel good to wear, the material inside(guess its viscose) feels soft and keeps the moisture out so your palm does not become sweaty. But the negative is that it did not fit well with my hand. The fingers are too short for me. I would recommend one to try it in a store before you order it online. It is not meant for very cold and windy weather.
As other reviewers have said, the gloves run very small. In particular, at least for my hands, the thumb was especially small and proportionally much more so than the fingers – which is the reason for the poor review (I don’t mind so much if things run small – just get a bigger size – but in this case the fingers fit fine but then thumb was too tight, so a larger size would not have worked, at least for me). They are also not especially warm, though wasn’t really expecting that for these kind of gloves.
Most disappointed. Wore this less than half a dozen times and the backside starts to pill. Either it is not a good product, or I received a defective item. No option for a replacement except a refund but seller said it’s past the return date. Unfortunately it is not something I wear all the time, except when it is very cold, and when I discover the defects, it is too late.
I bought these gloves for my husband we had to exchange them for a Large from the medium because they were tight and i thought he should get them bigger he was much happier! He says they are good gloves but they do not keep your hands as warm as they say! it was ok for being outside for short periods of time but we had a HORRIBLY cold winter and he said his hands were cold at times. it did not help if the gloves were cold they did not work as well ! All in All he enjoys them but if you are looking for a super warm glove this is not quite it !
These are amazing gloves. They are padded just enough to be warm on very cold days while still allowing for some finger dexterity. They also work pretty well with touch screen, although don’t try typing with them. However, things like sliding open your phone, or turning the volume up and down work fine.
The touchscreen responsiveness on these gloves are fantastic. Put them on and had no problem typing/browsing web on my phone. The gloves fit my hands perfectly (XL–which is what I typically wear in other gloves). Other comments say the gloves run small, but I don’t think that is the case, they are just meant to be snug to keep the heat in/hands warm. If you have bulkier fingers they will be tight.
